Fatbike tour on the Pakri Peninsula
Pakri Peninsula is a perfect spot for hiking with fatbikes only a 45-minute drive from Tallinn.
Thanks to the wide wheels, the fatbike does not need a road that is in a perfect condition. There are beautiful sandy as well as stony beaches on the Pakri Peninsula, it is a thrilling place for discovering the nature of Northwest Estonia.
During our trip, we ascend up to 25 metres from the low seashore to the cliffs, where the view is breath-taking. During warmer times, it is possible to see black guillemots, birds that look like penguins.
The Pakri Peninsula is an exciting place for hiking due to the beauty of the nature as well as its surprising history. After cycling in the woods, on the beach and the cliffs, the roads take us to an unearthly area. A place that seems more like an area of some futuristic base where you can hear such wind turbines rustling that are 80 metres high and have rotors with a diameter reaching up to 90 metres. As the fatbike has very wide tyres, we can organise bicycle trips with these also in the winter.
Length of the hike
About 3 hours, the distance of the trip is about 18 km. We move at a leisurely pace with the bike, about 10 km/h, depending on the landscape.
Level of difficulty
Moderate.
The opinions about the hike from people who have been on the hike on the Pakri Peninsula:
Tanel celebrated his birthday on the hike. It was very cool, everyone was dirty, but satisfied. The highlight of the hike was a rabbit who ran over the cliff in full speed!
