Recently, we organised a snowshoeing adventure in Kakerdaja Bog for a group of 40 participants, most of whom were from Spain. They swapped palm trees for Estonian nature for a couple of days. And the result? They were absolutely amazed!<\/span><\/h3>\n

A first visit to an Estonian bog can certainly be an exciting experience. The participants compared the bog landscape to sinking sand, with its soft, springy ground beneath their feet and the feeling that they might sink at any moment.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our guide, Mari Toom, introduced them to the origins of the bog and explained the importance of preserving these unique natural landscapes.<\/span><\/p>\n

We welcomed our guests with traditional Estonian sprat sandwiches, followed by hot soup and dessert after the hike.<\/span><\/p>\n

An hour of active snowshoeing across the soft, bouncy bog terrain gave everyone a wonderful boost of positive energy. Nearly 10,000 steps in the bog passed almost unnoticed, as the stunning views of the colourful landscape and bright red cranberries made time fly by.<\/span><\/p>\n
